As we expand our “End Blackout” initiatives through solar hybrid mini-grids and commercial-industrial projects, we are seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to ensure that our electrical systems meet rigorous quality and compliance standards.

As our Electrical Engineer, while on our project site locations you will be responsible for the development and implementation of quality assurance and quality control processes specific to our solar energy projects.  You will work cross-functionally with design, engineering, and project teams to embed quality throughout the project lifecycle.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance

• Develop and enforce QA standards for electrical systems within solar projects.
• Maintain and update quality documentation, manuals, procedures, and checklists.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure electrical QA is embedded in all project phases.
• Analyze quality data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
• Participate in audits and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver training on QA processes and standards to relevant team members.

Quality Control

• Create and implement QC protocols for inspecting and testing electrical components.
• Perform regular site inspections and equipment tests to verify compliance.
• Certify completed projects and installations to approved standards.
• Maintain records of inspections and flag deviations from specifications.
• Investigate and resolve non-conformities, engaging with relevant teams to implement corrective measures.
• Monitor supplier performance for electrical components and coordinate supplier audits.
• Ensure calibration and maintenance of quality control equipment.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• B.Eng or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer, preferably in renewable energy.
• Knowledge of national and international electrical standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE).
• Relevant QA/QC certification (e.g., ISO 9001, QA/QC Electrical Certificate) is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and precision.
• Proficient in using quality management software and tools.
• Willingness to travel and work in both rural and urban locations.
